LLN Provides Educational Materials to Students
30 August 2024, Kathmandu: In anticipation of the 58th International Literacy Day, Legal Literacy – Nepal (LLN) has distributed educational supplies to 45 students from nine community schools in Tokha Municipality. The event was held on 30 August 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Tokha Municipality conference hall. A total of 76 participants, including students, teachers, the mayor, a doctor, and municipality staff, attended the event.
Om Prakash Sen Thakuri, Executive Director of LLN, chaired the ceremony. Tokha Municipality Mayor Prakash Adhikari was the chief guest, with other notable attendees including Chief Executive Officer Sher Bahadur Bishwakarma, Baburam Adhikari, Head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Department of Tokha Municipality, and Dr. Shridhar Aryal, Head of Chandeshwori Hospital in Tokha.
Mayor Adhikari commended LLN for its efforts on quality education, child rights and child protection and emphasized Tokha Municipality's commitment to providing quality education for every child. He noted the municipality's establishment of a fund to support educational endeavors, ensuring that financial challenges do not impede students’ learning.
In their addresses, Sher Bahadur Bishwakarma, Baburam Adhikari, and Dr. Shridhar Aryal highlighted the vital role of education in personal development. They shared anecdotes from their own school experiences and professional journeys to inspire the students. They congratulated the children on receiving support and encouraged them to make the most of the educational materials to build a promising future.
