Legal Literacy Nepal Hosts Training For Teachers
On September 27 and 28, 2024, Legal Literacy Nepal organized a two-day residential training program at Hotel View Bhirkuti in Godabari, Lalitpur. The training, attended by 16 teachers from eight community schools in Tokha Municipality, focused on "Penal-free Teaching Methods." This initiative aimed to enhance the relationship between teachers and students by promoting non-violent discipline approaches, fostering a nurturing learning environment, and providing educators with the tools to better understand and address their students' emotional, mental, and personal challenges.
The training covered a wide range of topics, including good parenting techniques, how to connect with students on a deeper level, and methods to motivate children while addressing their behavioral issues with empathy. Teachers were encouraged to recognize underlying problems such as physical, mental, or family-related issues affecting students' behavior. They also learned strategies for managing anger, building heart-mind connections, and supporting students in a constructive manner. By adopting these penal-free methods, teachers can foster a more positive and supportive atmosphere in classrooms, helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.
