LLN organized an impactful Interschool Exchange Program on Child Safeguarding

This week (15 - 20 July, 2025), Legal Literacy Nepal (LLN) organized an impactful Interschool Exchange Program across eight schools in Tokha, engaging 418 students and teachers in critical legal and child welfare discussions. The initiative aimed to strengthen legal awareness and promote safer educational spaces through three key sessions.

The first session, Child Safeguarding, trained 214 participants from Tilingtar Mavi, Julpa Mavi, Shree Manohar Mavi, and Dhapasi Mavi on preventing abuse, recognising risks and ensuring child protection. The second session, Violence-Free Education, equipped 111 attendees from Chandeshwori Mavi and Boudeshwor Mavi with alternative, non-violent disciplinary approaches to foster positive learning environments. The final session, Child Rights, Duties, and Protectioneducated 94 participants from Jhor Mahankal Mavi and Saraswoti Mavi on fundamental rights, legal protections and responsibilities under Nepali law.

These sessions are part of LLN’s broader mission to enhance legal literacy in schools, ensuring that both students and educators understand their rights and obligations. By integrating legal education into school programs, LLN seeks to reduce violence, empower young minds, and create a culture of accountability and safety in educational institutions.
