An Orientation Program on Child Protection Held at Tilingatar Secondary School

As part of the Training of Trainers organized by Legal Literacy Nepal (LLN) for members of Tokha Nagar Baal Sanjal, a three-member team conducted a successful orientation on Child Protection on 09 February 2026 at Tilingatar Secondary School. The program was designed for students of Classes 6 and 7, with a total of 310 participants, including 124 boys and 176 girls. The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Krishna Sunar, along with Ms. Sunita Rawat and Ms. Sandhya Adhikari, members of Tokha Nagar Baal Sanjal. The program commenced at 10:00 AM after a preparatory meeting among the team to ensure smooth and child-friendly delivery of the sessions.

The training aimed to enhance children’s understanding of their rights, personal safety, and legal protection measures. Through interactive activities and discussions, students learned about the definition of a child, the importance of child rights, the distinction between needs and wants, and essential safety concepts such as good touch, bad touch, and confusing touch. The sessions encouraged active engagement, open communication, and helped students develop the confidence to speak up against abuse and seek help when required. Overall, the program provided a supportive and engaging learning environment, significantly improving students’ awareness of child protection and reinforcing LLN’s dedication to promoting legal literacy and safeguarding children’s rights.
