LLN Conducts Peer Violence Awareness Session at Shree Manohar Secondary School
On 9 June 2026, Legal Literacy Nepal (LLN) organized a legal awareness session on peer violence for 52 Grade 10 students at Shree Manohar Secondary School in Tokha Municipality.
The session was facilitated by Om Prakash Sen Thakuri, who discussed the meaning, forms, and impacts of peer violence on children's well-being, education, and overall development. Drawing on research findings from Nepal, he highlighted the prevalence of bullying and other forms of peer abuse in schools and their consequences for students.
Participants also learned about children's rights and the legal protections available under the Constitution of Nepal and the Act Relating to Children, 2075 (2018). The discussion covered the responsibilities of students, teachers, and schools in preventing violence and ensuring a safe learning environment.
The interactive session encouraged students to reflect on respectful behavior, seek support when facing violence, and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly school environment.
