LLN Conducts Peer Violence Awareness Session at Shree Chandeshwori Secondary School
On 9 June 2026, Legal Literacy Nepal (LLN) conducted an awareness and orientation program on peer violence for 50 Grade 10 students at Shree Chandeshwori Secondary School in Tokha Municipality.
Facilitating the session, Om Prakash Sen Thakuri introduced students to the concept of peer violence and discussed its various forms, including bullying, harassment, and other harmful behaviors among peers. He also shared insights from studies conducted in Nepal, highlighting the extent of peer violence in schools and its adverse effects on children's mental health, academic performance, and overall well-being.
The program further familiarized students with their rights under the Constitution of Nepal and the Act Relating to Children, 2075 (2018). Participants learned about legal safeguards available to children and the importance of reporting incidents of violence and seeking appropriate support when needed.
The session aimed to promote awareness, strengthen positive peer relationships, and encourage students to play an active role in preventing violence within their schools. Through interactive discussions and questions, participants explored ways to foster a respectful, supportive, and child-friendly learning environment.
