LLN Conducts Awareness Session on Peer Violence at Shree Tilingtar Secondary School
On 10 June 2026, Legal Literacy Nepal (LLN) organized a legal awareness and orientation program on peer violence for 69 Grade 9 students at Shree Tilingtar Secondary School in Tokha Municipality.
Facilitating the session, Om Prakash Sen Thakuri discussed the concept of peer violence, its various forms, and the factors that contribute to such behavior among students. Referring to studies and research carried out in Nepal, he highlighted the widespread nature of bullying and other forms of peer abuse and explained their effects on children's mental health, learning outcomes, and overall well-being.
The program also provided information on children's rights and the legal measures in place to protect them from violence and abuse. Students were introduced to relevant provisions of the Constitution of Nepal and the Act Relating to Children, 2075 (2018), and learned about the importance of reporting incidents of violence and accessing available support mechanisms.
The session aimed to raise awareness about peer violence, encourage respectful and supportive relationships among students, and strengthen their role in promoting a safe school environment. Through active participation, discussions, and questions, students explored practical ways to prevent violence and contribute to a more inclusive, respectful, and child-friendly school community.
