LLN Organized an Orientation Program on "Violence against Children and Preventive Measures"
09 December 2023, Kathmandu: Legal Literacy - Nepal (LLN) organized an orientation program for 28 students of Tokha Municipality in the meeting hall of Ward No:3, Tokha on 9 December 2023. In the program, 15 girls and 13 boys from 2 community students were participated. The participants were orientation on corporal punishment, reasons of corporal punishment, different forms of corporal punishment, legal protection against corporal punishment etc. They were presented the finding of data collection collected from different districts of Nepal.
In the second session, the students were oriented on types of violence against children, who are more vulnerable to violence and why, global status of violence against children, different forms of physical and mental violence against children, harmful traditional norms and practices, impacts of violence in the mental and physical health of children and preventive measures against violence were discussed. The participants had group discussions and presentations. The program was interactive and productive.
The program was organized in coordination with Tokha Municipality and funded by DKA Austria.
